Our First Family Vacation

We just returned from our first family beach trip to Edisto Island, SC. Edisto is south of Charleston and north of Hilton Head. We had a wonderful time. Dale and I got to relax, play in the sun and water and enjoy some yummy seafood. Zachary got pretty much the same. We had an indoor pool just across from our condo, and Zachary absolutely loved playing in it. He had two different floats and rotated playing between the two of them. We also spent some time on beach so of course Zachary got to eat some sand. He loved the ocean...he liked just watching the water and waves. Edisto was a great place for a quaint family trip. It's very private, mostly residential or timeshares. There are no hotels and no high rises on the beach at all. There is 1 restaurant on the water and probably less than 10 restaurants on the entire island. When we went to the beach there were only 2 other people as far as we could see and a couple of people walked by while we were there. It was so private. We were told about a spot for great dolphin watching and got to enjoy that. We also spent an afternoon in Charleston and got to see my friend Dave Landeo. He is an old friend from Knoxville and played at my wedding reception. We went to catch one of his gigs at a great restaurant on Shem Creek near Charleston. Good times! Zachary traveled so well and stayed on a great routine while we were there. Now hopefully he will transition back to home just as well.

Dale and I are off for the rest of this week and are just relaxing at home with Zachary. We checked out the new Costco today and enjoyed browsing around there. Zachary is napping now, which gave me a chance to update our blog. Back to the real world on Monday, but we will try to enjoy ourselves for a few more days.

Here are some pictures from our vacation...
